Festive Feeling

 A few photos to reminisce over a Christmas just past now that we're in that awkward limbo stage between a face full of turkey and New Year's celebrations! Suffice to say I ate a whole lotta food this festive season, the "it's Christmas" excuse has been used a hundred times over. I'm anticipating a quiet NYE night in to kick off 2014, sure, the countdown fireworks lighting up my humble tv won't be as bright or as charismatic as they would be face to face but at least I'll be warm and with the ones I love most~

Peace In My Bones

A few photos from a casual look I wore last week, Monki is one of my favourite stores at the moment, their designs are so simple and quirky from the pieces that they sell to even the plastic bag and paper receipt at point of purchase. Cute skeletons should be some sort of paradox, right? Monki seems to have pulled it off.

Christmas has well and truly wrapped up in my household for 2013 and I'm currently in bed nursing a festive food baby whilst debating whether to eat a brownie or a slice of lemon drizzle cake... As we were driving home my mum let out a sigh: "another year, another Christmas" and I couldn't agree more. As clichéd as it sounds, time is flying by incredibly quickly and as the only commodity once past we can never regain, makes it so very precious. Make the most of every day and every opportunity, be the best you can be not only to yourself, but to and for other people.

Plain Paisley

Not forgetting a thick pair of black tights of course, UK winter isn't kind. I'm not lying when I say I'm finding it a struggle to keep these black boots off my feet, I'm pairing them with every single outfit in my wardrobe all for the sake of extra height, edginess, and comfort - 3 style commandments I live by. (I'm starting to sneak in 'waterproof' in addition to the above 3, UK winter REALLY isn't kind.)

I hope you're having a lovely weekend, mine has been pretty eventful and exciting to say the least! I had the opportunity to meet Suzi from Style Suzi and attend a fabulous GHD eclipse exposed event. A few snaps of the night and some commentary coming your way soon!

Dark Floral

Floral maxi dress from New Look; moto from Topshop; fedora from H&M

Engaged in a personal experiment to see how much of my summer wardrobe I can expose to the British winter, all it really means is throwing a moto jacket or a knitted jumper (oftentimes both because it is very chilly here) on top of all my chiffon dresses and skirts. The festive season is always brimming with celebrations and all things merry, there is ample opportunity to dig out your favourite dresses! For a big dose of Christmas I'd advise a trip to Winter Wonderland, ah, it's such a happy place. Make your way there quick, as soon as term ends it'd be happy turned crazy...

Colour Me Plaid

There's no escaping plaid this season, and rightly so because it's an amazing print in any mélange of colours and in any which way. If you're indecisive like me (I take it to a whole new level guys), marrying shorts and a skirt pretty much answers all my prayers. Taking a bit of that schoolgirl edge off by stomping around in these chunky black boots which are my favourite, every-day boot this winter!
